1:43 p.m., March 17, 2010----The University of Delaware hosted the Geis Student Research on Women Conference on Saturday, March 13.
The Geis Conference, sponsored by the Women's Studies Program and the Office of Equity and Inclusion , is a program designed to recognize student excellence in research.
The conference is open to female and male students, at either the undergraduate or the graduate level, from the member institutions of the Greater Philadelphia Women's Studies Consortium.

Those with questions on a proposal to tax sugared beverages will have a chance to get some answers during a hearing at City Hall Wednesday.

Philadelphia University Men's basketball Coach Herb Magee, became the winningest NCAA coach in history on Feb. 23, was honored today by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter at a City Hall ceremony.
"This is a personal achievement, and we're very proud of him as a city," said Nutter, who presented Magee with the city's Liberty Bell Award.

Aides to Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter came under fire on Tuesday at a City Council budget hearing, for the poor condition of Philadelphia police stations and recreation centers.
The hearing focused on the mayor's new budget for capital projects -- a budget that the Nutter administration readily admits does not fully deal with the shoddy condition of the city's many buildings and public centers.
